Beautiful gardens shouldn’t require acres of land.
I design small gardens that make room for beauty, relaxation, and a connection with nature. Each plan starts with your space: the light, the plants you want to keep, and how you want to use it.
My goal is to give you thoughtful plant choices and a clear plan, so getting started feels a little easier.

Why primarily native plants?
Thoughtfully placed native plants bring seasonal interest and support pollinators and birds. Designs may also include a few well-behaved non-native plants that suit your garden.

You don’t need plant knowledge or a perfect sketch. We’ll start with what you know.
Do you visit my property?
These packages are remote design services, using your photos, notes, and approximate measurements. Pocket Plots serves Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland.
Do I need exact measurements?
No. A simple sketch with approximate dimensions is a helpful start. Include bed edges, fences, walkways, doors, and trees. Nikki can follow up if more detail is needed.
Are plants or installation included?
The package price covers your garden design. You purchase plants and materials separately and arrange installation yourself. You can plant the garden yourself or share the design with someone helping you.
Can we keep plants I already have?
Yes. Share photos and notes about plants you’d like to keep, move, or remove, so they can be considered in the design.
What if I don’t know which package I need?
Choose “Not sure yet” in the inquiry form, or leave the selection as it is. Tell Nikki about your space and she’ll help you find the right fit.
How long does a design take?
Timing depends on the package and current project queue. Nikki will discuss timing and next steps with you after your inquiry.
